The Medical Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) have implemented new guidelines for cosmetic surgery as of 1 July 2023.
View New Guidelines.
All patients will require a referral letter from their GP or other specialist provider as well as a minimum of two consultations with a surgeon prior to booking surgery. Completion of a psychologist questionnaire will be required in assessing a patient’s suitability for cosmetic surgery. If there are concerns raised during the psychological questionnaire, you may be referred to a psychologist. Cosmetic surgery is a significant undertaking and surgery will only proceed when all criteria have been fulfilled. Patient safety and wellbeing is the utmost priority at Tasman Plastic Surgery, and we support the latest guidelines. In addition, following your second consultation, you will need to wait a minimum of 7 days before you can schedule a date for your surgery.
Please note that this process is mandatory and Mr Kandamany is unable to see you without a referral from your GP or other specialist provider.
